New Books and Covers Galore!

First off on today’s cover update, we’ve got a contemporary romance series by Laurie LeClair. Working with Ms. LeClair was fantastic! Her books feature interesting twists on some well known fairy tales. The Once Upon a Romance series is flying up the charts over at Amazon. Here is the blurb for each along with the covers:

If the Shoe Fits FINAL

If the Shoe Fits:

What happens when a modern day Cinderella’s dreams don’t involve getting married? Romance? Love? In this Once Upon A Romance Series Book 1 romantic comedy, Charlotte (Charlie) King doesn’t have time for either one. All she wants is her late father’s dream to come true by making his beloved King’s Department Store thrive again. However, her stepmother has other ideas. Charlie agrees to help her stepmother find grooms for her sheltered stepsisters. In exchange, the stepmother will release her stronghold on the store’s budget. After all, one good deed deserves another, right? But, Charlie has no idea what her heart’s in for when…

Alexander (Alex) Royale, dubbed by society newspapers as Prince Charming, arrives for dinner to meet the all-female King family. His ailing grandparents yearn for his marriage and then the baby carriage. Well, that and running the family company. Having unsuccessfully searched for months, Alex doesn’t hold out any hope in finding his future bride among the King sisters. However, all his expectations, including his idea of a business-like marriage of convenience, vanish the moment Charlie crashes into him.

When Alex sets out out to win over Charlotte, he has no idea he has to bargain with the stepmother, secretly buy the store, court Charlotte after the wedding, and, oh yeah, be featured in Charlie’s new fairy tale ad campaign, The Charmings, based on them. Can a guy ever get a break?

The couple never factored in falling in love with each other. Now, faced with losing all their families ever wanted, Charlie and Alex must choose: Do they live their families’ dreams or do they finally live their own?

Waking Sleeping Beauty FINAL

Waking Sleeping Beauty:

Is real life better than any dream you can imagine?

In book 2 of this Once Upon A Romance Series romantic comedy, sheltered, naive Francine (Francie) King longs for her dream wedding. Now, if only she can find the perfect groom for her perfect wedding. Added to that, she’s just walked out on her meddling, controlling mother and has lost her trust fund money. What’s a girl to do? And how will she ever afford the wedding she’s planned for all her life?

Successful, single Marcus Goode wants to be closer to his ailing mother and hold onto the only family he has left in this world. He agrees to return to Dallas to take over the temporary running of King’s Department Store while the new owner searches for a permanent replacement. What he doesn’t anticipate is just how involved he will get with the King family, especially Francie when he’s caught up in a make-believe courtship for a fairy tale ad campaign for the store.

When Marcus finds Francie in a wedding dress asleep in the store after hours, he kisses her awake. Neither one of them will ever be the same. Can a hopeless romantic learn to survive in the real world? And can a confirmed bachelor remain that way when his heart falls for a sleeping beauty?

Taming McGruff FINAL

Taming McGruff:

Can following misguided dreams end up making you better than you ever imagined you could be?

In book 3 of this Once Upon A Romance Series romantic comedy, Priscilla King wants to make her own unique stamp on the family store. However, she’s the littler sister no one takes seriously. She longs to prove she’s worthy of the King name. Who would have ever thought a man she barely knows is the only one who will listen to her?!

Hell-bent on revenge against her mother, Griffin James, seeks to destroy King’s Department Store. But when he meets Priscilla, he only wants to protect her from himself. How can he move forward with his plans when his heart won’t follow along?

What happens when a carefree, fun-loving Pixie and an intense, sexy McGruff cross paths? Will their hearts get in the way of their dreams?

So, I LOVE showing you books that are available now, but I’m also excited to display some that will be very soon. Below are a few novels that will be ready to buy in the near future. Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000031_00001]Coming to you December 1st, is Aimee Gilchrist’s The Tell-Tale Con. This is a YA mystery presented by Gemma Halliday.

The Tell-Tale Con:

Tallulah “Talia” Jones has not had your average upbringing. The child of con-artists, her parents have bestowed such important life lessons upon her as, “the con is in the details” and “don’t steal from your friends … because they can identify you to the cops way too easily.”

Now her dad is in prison, her mom has become “Mystic Madam Magdala”, and her biology partner, pro chess player, son of Hollywood bigwig, Harrison Poe, suddenly needs Talia’s help solving a mystery in a way that only a person who understands the rules of a con can. It looks like a quick and legit way to earn some cash … until someone ups the ante with murder. Now Talia and Harrison are racing against time to find the killer before Harrison becomes the next victim.

It’s going to take all of Talia’s skills to pull off this con … because as any good con artist can tell you, ‘If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull.’

Another YA novel from Gemma Halliday Publishing that will be out in December is I Spy Dead People by Jennifer Fischetto. I had a blast with the font for this one. 🙂

I Spy Dead People:

Horror movie and junk-food junkie, fifteen-year-old Piper Grimaldi wishes for three things: 1. to help her true-crime novelist father solve a mystery, 2. to settle down and make one town their home, and 3. to have a social life, which includes a BFF and a boyfriend (even if she’s not allowed to date for another year).

It looks like her dreams will come true when on the first day in Hollow Ridge, MA, she befriends her next-door neighbor, mauls a cute boy, and spies on teen soap star, Linzy Quinn. But then the boy rejects her kiss, and Piper finds Linzy’s dead body. To make matters worse (as if that’s possible), Linzy’s ghost appears, in full color, and won’t leave Piper alone.

Piper desperately wants to help Linzy move into that darn light, but Linzy’s more interested in seeking revenge on all the people she believes did her wrong … including the person who killed her. If Piper can’t find her killer, she just may be the next true-crime victim of Hollow Ridge.

One more out in December is Ritter Ames’ Counterfeit Conspiracies.

Counterfeit Conspiracies:

Laurel Beacham grew up in wealth and society—until her grandfather died and her father gambled away the family fortune. Now with more pedigree than trust fund, she is the premier art recovery expert for museums that need to stay one step ahead of international thieves. Her latest assignment pits her against a mystery man, Jack Hawkes, who is not only her equal with blue bloods, but also seems to know where all the bodies are buried. Suddenly Laurel is racing against time to find a priceless art object before the enemy does, locate a missing art world compatriot with crucial information, and decide whether or not she wants to disentangle herself from this new male nemesis, Jack, who seems to know too much about her and her business.
